Juana Estrada Hernández was born in Zacatecas, Mexico and immigrated to Denver at seven years old. She's now an award-winning printmaker and assistant professor at RISD — a path built through community college, Fort Hays State University, and an MFA at UNM. Her second solo show at Hecho a Mano, Los Caminos de la Vida, Desde Aqui Para Allá, was inspired by her return to Zacatecas after a twenty-two year absence — a homecoming made complicated, and hard-won, by her status as a DACA recipient.
