My name is Clay Hicks and I was born in Mount Vernon, Washington. I was adopted and am the middle child of 3. As a child I enjoyed playing sports, raising sheep and horses, and showing them in the county fair. After high school I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life so I traveled the country hitchhiking. After several years I decided to settle down in Flagstaff, Arizona where I studied ceramics and other design arts. Ceramics definitely became my passion at that point, and after school I moved to Taos to further my career as an artist. I hope to thrive and continue this path as a ceramicist for many years to come.
